"«(...) Quando criámos a Remuneração Complementar para mais de 6500 funcionários públicos, nunca se duvidou da nossa competência e nunca se considerou uma quebra de solidariedade nacional. E agora que a aumentamos em 2,1%, estamos a não ser solidários? Quando aprovámos um Salário Mínimo Regional mais elevado, que beneficia cerca de sete mil trabalhadores do sector privado, também era eticamente condenável? E o Complemento para Aquisição de Medicamentos, que ajuda 12 mil idosos a comprar medicamentos mais baratos, também é uma falta de solidariedade com o Continente? E o Complemento Açoriano ao Abono de Família para 80 mil Crianças e Jovens, que aumentámos este ano, também é inconstitucional por falha de solidarização? E o Complemento de Pensão – o chamado "cheque pequeno" –, que representa 24 milhões de euros, que aumentámos e abrange cerca de 35 mil pensionistas, que ficam com uma pensão um pouco maior do que a que teriam no Continente, é, como diz o Senhor Representante da República, uma medida de "incompreensível egoísmo"? E se apoiarmos mais, como acontece, os nossos jovens no emprego, estaremos a proceder mal? E o IRS já inferior entre 20 a 30% ao Continente, também, como diz o Representante, é um "desprezo" pelo país? (...)»
